If you have a camera that has strap mounting points that only have little round holes (instead of the wider strap-size holes), this can be a useful and inexpensive improvement to you camera's strap mounting kit. You don't need this - and in fact won't want to use this - if your camera has the wider mounting points.I am using this on a Canon EOS M5 (which has the little holes) to enable me to use a better neck strap than the one that came with the camera. It's nice to have the little leather bits to help make it work better.

So the story goes like this:I bought a beautiful, Black, vintage, Nikon F camera. I did not want a cheesy vintage yellow Nikon strap. I found a vintage thin black leather Nikon branded strap. It looks nice.However, I wanted to protect the body from brassing along where the strap rings meet the body. This product worked perfectly, and makes everything look cooler (as well as safer).My only critique is that this is not available in other colours for other straps/cameras!

Bought a used Pentax K-3 without eyelet, so ordered those and they fit just fine. They might not be of the desired strength to leave your camera hang by those for a lengthy period of time, but they do the trick when the camera slips and you can grab it fast enough. Sturdy enough to have a strap too, but I never used it in a lengthy period of time that way, more used with hand straps.
